Made by hand
Each portrait is made by Riley of Synova Studios using the historic cyanotype process.
She begins by removing the background from your photo, adding any chosen extras, and creating a transparency of the finished design.
Using sunlight, she transfers the image onto specially treated 6" x 8" paper, developing it into a rich blue print.
Each portrait is made by hand, so no two are exactly alike.

Frequently asked questions
What kind of photo works best?
Clear, high-resolution photos are best. Because the portrait is created directly from your photograph, a clear image makes all the difference. Avoid blurry, pixelated, very dark, or heavily filtered photos. If you're unsure whether yours will work, send it our way (hello@shopgoodgriff.com), and we're happy to take a look.
There's a background on my photo. Is that okay?
Yes! Riley will remove the background before printing your photo.
When will I get my order?
Current production lead time is 7-10 business days.
Can I give one as a gift?
Absolutely! Just choose the recipients name and address at checkout to ship to them directly, or ship it to yourself to gift later.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is free on all cyanotype portraits.
How big is the print, and should I frame it?
Prints are 6" x 8". These prints look beautiful when framed, or displayed in other ways. We particularly love propping these up with vintage flower frogs.
Can I get multiple pets in one print?
Yes, but both pets must be in the same photo. If you have two separate photos of your pets, you should order two separate prints!
How much does it cost?
Prints are $55 each, with free shipping. If you have multiple pets, you can save by printing both in one (as long as both pets are in the same photo).
